Amazon.co.uk Review
There was an understandable mix of emotions bubbling to the surface when the final episode of Battlestar Galactica was finally broadcast in the first half of 2009. On the one hand, this has proven to be vintage science fiction television, easily one of the most ambitious, daring and flat-out successful TV projects in recent times. And on the other, it’s all over, with this box set bringing together the final episodes of the show.

Inevitably, this final season wraps up many of the mysteries and narrative questions of Battlestar Galactica, none of which we intend to spoil here. The fate of humanity, the hunt for the fabled earth and the further revelations about the Cylons are packed in, and the standard throughout this final season remains sky high.

The actual ending itself, as it happens, proved quite divisive, but arguably that’s part of the strength of Battlestar Galactica. Because this is a show that, right to the end, doesn’t take the easy road, and delivers some of the most intelligent, dark drama of recent years. It’s a staggering achievement, and this final season, along with the entirety of the show itself, is set to still be talked about decades into the future. Quite brilliant, and not to be missed. --Jon Foster

5 out of 5 stars The End   July 9, 2010

Its interesting to see the end as there can be so many ways it can finish.
The best bit of this set is the female telling the whole Battlestar Galatica story at high speed with picture clips- just great.

5 out of 5 stars Slightly weird, but never the less good ending   June 26, 2010

Usual good action and effects, with interesting story line that feels a bit weird at times but makes sense at the end (almost)

This is in fact not the final season. It's the last episodes of season 4 true enough, but it is missing half of the season. As everyone knows, the show had 4 seasons (and they are in fact careful not to label this boxset as season 5 because it is and always has been part of season 4). Naturally you would assume that a box advertised as the final season would be complete

When a season is split into two halves I have always seen them labelled as part one and two, and you can then buy the complete season for a reasonable price once the season has ended. It's really poor form to expect fans to pay (and find extra space) for two seperate boxsets, and not offer the usual complete collection. Season 4 has no extra content, it is in line with the episode number from seasons 2 and 3, and there is no reason to only offer the split boxsets.

5 out of 5 stars Good end to a great series   June 11, 2010

Really enjoyed the entire saga which I watched in big chunks by DVD. There are some minor flaws and not everyone was happy with the ending but meh, can't please everyone. Well worth a look if you enjoy good sci fi.
