This is a must for any fan of the theatre or who indeed has been to see it!!!! Listening to it makes you feel you're sittin back in the theatre and everytime I listen to 'For Good' it makes me cry!
This is a must have!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!

After seeing the show at the Apollo Victoria in May 2010 as part of my 40th Birthday celebrations, I bought a copy for each of my friends and myself.
The show was the best we had seen and although I had reservations that the CD was not by the London cast, it really didn't matter. Listening to the CD was like re-living the show and I have it on in the car most of the time (although I usually sing along without my family present!)
I had each copy sent directly to each friends home address with a personalised thank you message & cost me less than £20 for all 4!!
My friends were delighted and although it was a cheap way of thanking them, the thought and product is priceless.

Saw the show in the West End, and just had to have the music to remind me of an excellent evening.

May I give a rather different perspective on this CD?
I bought it before seeing the stage show - and I'm glad I did, since it helped me to understand the characters and follow the story. But listening to it wouldn't have actually persuaded me to see the show.
In my view, Wicked is one of those which is better visually than musically. Not that the music is poor - it certainly isn't and it fits the story perfectly. It's just that the score doesn't contain classic songs as such.
Don't get me wrong: I thoroughly enjoyed the show and would definitely recommend seeing it. The 'Defying Gravity' scene, for example, is stunning. Overall the show is witty and very entertaining. So yes, buy this CD beforehand - and keep it as a reminder. But as a musical album taken in isolation, it's good but not great.
