    Amazon.co.uk Review
The sci-fi role-playing epic continues, as the Mass Effect story delves into darker territory and the fate of Commander Shepard, his crew and the entire galaxy.

The saga continues with even more action and intrigue
Enemies will keep on coming even with missing limbs
Mass Effect 2 will see the return of many familiar faces
Equip and upgrade many new weapon types and biotics

A streamlined combat system makes the game even more action-packed than before, with a new regenerating health system that means you spend less time fiddling with menus and more time shooting enemies. You can also direct teammates individually with a simple press of a button, giving you greater tactical control over every encounter.

The number of planets you can explore, and the complexity of the sub quests you find on them, has been greatly expanded from the first game - giving you a whole galaxy to explore at will. The original game was the most cohesive mix yet of action game and role-player and this sequel goes even further in combing both genres into one giant space opera.

    Key Features
    • Episode Two: Commander Shepard returns as the award-winning action role-player offers up even more intense storytelling and a whole new threat to humanity.
    • All action: All-new combat options make the game even more action-packed, with more versatile controls, more weapons and better management of allies.
    • Age of discovery: Even more exploration options than before, with more detailed side quests and many more developed planets to visit.
    • Good talker: Revamped conversation system is more dynamic than ever, with faster, more realistic dialogue and a new cinematic camera.
    • Ongoing story: If you have a save file from the first Mass Effect then the decisions you made will have an effect on the new game and old characters will remember you.
    About the Developer: BioWare Corp.
This Canadian developer has become one of the most renowned makers of Western style role-playing games, with titles such as Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Mass Effect. Star Wars: The Old Republic will be their first massively multiplayer online game.

5 out of 5 stars Long lasting effect.   September 10, 2010

This game is godly, not just for RPG fans and 'ffect fans, but for all gamers.
Creating an action RPG which isn't turn based is not an easy task, however Mass Effect 2 demonstrates how it must be done.
The length and depth to this game is immense, plus stunning visuals and a story that is easily worthy of the big screen, creates not just a game, but an experience that is a revolution of its own genre. There is little else to say but sit back, play and be wowed by a game which will leave you fully satisfied and 'spaced' out (excuse that really really bad pun}. The lasting value of this game deserves to be owned by any 360 gamer.

My usual breakdown of games...

Length 10/10
Game-play 8.5/10
Environment - Graphics/Soundtrack 9.5/10
Story 10/10
Achievements 7.5/10

Overall 45.5/50 [91%]

5 out of 5 stars Best game on the xbox by a gallon!   September 8, 2010

Why havent you already got this game?? Buy it, play it and be speechless like me.

P.S Don't do what i did, and complete this.. then go and buy the first one.. you'll be very disappointed.. The first one, is very weak and boring in comparison.
P.P.S If you ignored the advice.. I told you so ;) Mako exploration sucks, and repetitive as heck! The armour upgrade thing is annoying and confusing.
P.P.P.S Sorry if you enjoyed Mass effect 1 and you were offended by my statement

Enjoy Mass effect 2.

5 out of 5 stars MASSively EFFECTive   August 29, 2010

The first Mass Effect was an amazing game with an involving storyline, detailed characters but with a few little glitches. Loading screens were a bit annoying and the dodgy frame rate needed improving. Mass Effect 2 however takes all the best elements from the first and improves on all the bad. The shooter side of things is one of the main noticeable differences, with a much improved targeting system and accuracy. The ammo and weapons options have been vastly improved too, so no more sifting through all your ammo or weapons you've collected to turn them into omni-gel or sell.
The storyline pretty much picks up from where the first left off, and what's great is that you can upload your character from the first (as long as you've completed the game), and also the choices you made (who lived, who died, etc) or you can just start from scratch if you choose.
All in all Mass Effect 2 is a must for anybody who even remotely enjoyed the first chapter, as this is clearly a 10 out of 10 title.

5 out of 5 stars Just incredible, believe the hype or miss out on something amazing   August 24, 2010

Just completed this and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it's the best video game I have ever played. Not being a hardcore gamer I wasn't sure whether something this revered would be the game for me (being very much a pick up and play type of chap) but this had me hooked form the instant it started up.

I got about 65 hours out of it, knowing full well that when I elected to go past the point of no return (this will make sense once you've played it) that I could have spent far longer on it.

Everything about Mass Effect 2 is just stunning; from graphics to gameplay, voice acting to scope of ideas. I cannot recommend this game enough, there will be so very much here for gamers of all abilites and levels of dedication.

I wait with baited breath for the third installment.
